Adopting AI is not a strategy

Most GTM teams have adopted AI and changed nothing about how work gets done. Adoption and operating-model change are different projects.

PLACEHOLDER — replace before publishing. Structure and metadata are final; the copy is an example.

Ask a revenue organization whether it has adopted AI and the answer is almost always yes. Ask what work is done differently as a result and the answer gets much shorter.

Adoption is measured in seats

Seat counts and usage dashboards measure whether people opened something. They do not measure whether the operating model changed, and those are not the same question.

What an operating-model change looks like

The test is simple: has any recurring work moved off the org chart? If every task still requires a person to initiate it, the operating model is unchanged regardless of how much AI is in the stack.
