What you can do

What RevTech agents do not do

RevTech agents do not own customer relationships, make judgment calls reserved for people, or take consequential action without approval. They do not replace your CRM, invent data they cannot source, or operate outside the permissions you grant. Knowing the boundaries is usually more useful in diligence than knowing the capabilities.

Judgment

Agents prepare. People decide.

The line RevTech draws is between preparation and judgment. An agent can assemble every fact about an at-risk renewal, draft the outreach, and stage the CRM changes. Whether to discount, escalate, or walk away is a human decision, and the product is built so it stays one.

This is not a limitation waiting to be removed. GTM decisions carry commercial and relationship consequences that belong to an accountable person, and an operating model that blurs that is harder to govern, not more advanced.

  • Agents do not set pricing, approve discounts, or commit terms
  • Agents do not decide whether a deal is real — they evidence it
  • Agents do not own the customer relationship or replace seller judgment
  • Agents do not change your rules; they execute against them

Data

Agents do not invent what they cannot source

Every answer an agent produces carries its evidence. Where a fact came from a CRM record, an email, a call, or an external source, that provenance travels with the output, which is what makes an agent answer auditable rather than merely plausible.

When the evidence is not there, the correct behavior is to say so and escalate. An agent that fills a gap with a confident guess is worse than one that flags it, because the guess is indistinguishable from a fact downstream.

Access

Agents do not exceed their permissions

Agents connect with scoped, least-privilege access that honors your existing roles and sharing rules. An agent cannot read what its permissions exclude, and cannot write where you have not granted write access.

Because permissions are per-agent rather than per-platform, widening what one agent may do does not widen the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Not unless you explicitly configure that. The default is that outbound communication is drafted for human review. Teams typically keep review on customer-facing messages long after they have automated internal work.
Scoped permissions, approval gates on consequential actions, and rate and volume controls on what an agent may change in a period. Every action is recorded, so a mistake is both bounded and reversible.
